SPECIAL AWARD WINNERS
For an ACC student who goes above and beyond, behind the scenes.
Spencer came to us with ambitions for learning something new, having been a creative for a long time in and around Norwich. The students look up to Spencer as a strong and experienced adult, who is learning alongside them. Knowing that it might be difficult or awkward, Spencer strived through the age gap issue, and there is evident mutual respect and friendship between her and her classmates.
Alongside her studies, Spencer has been focused on her family, and is an empathetic, kind, strong and wise person. Spencer has worked at balancing job life and family life, and the added pressure of learning and attending college alongside that. There are challenges that Spencer has faced, and had to work through, and through it all there is a smile, a conversation, an anecdote, and a life lesson. Oh, and fantastic fashion!

NORWICH EDUCATION AWARDS
Ruby started the year with an idea of how they wanted to finish it - a refreshed sense of self, opportunities in their chosen industry field, and completion of the college year. Ruby has done this! Last year, Ruby was ready to move on from college, feeling as though it wasn't the place for them, but as that year ended and this one began, Ruby has changed the way they view college, and has grasped every opportunity to hone their skills, work with a team, teach others, and enjoy as many moments as possible.
Ruby also gained employment in the Events industry, as their enthusiasm and passion for lighting design has shone through.
The progress and development Max has made this year is amazing, he is so hard working and is always excited and motivated for events and is always happy to help out when needed. Max has never complained about the work in college, never said no to an opportunity, and always supported his teams. He is a true champion of others, knowledgable but willing to learn more, and demonstrated fantastic progress in all aspects of the course. If you need someone to help out, everyone knows to just ask Max!
Both students have demonstrated excellent academic ability throughout the year and have fully engaged in all of their sessions. They have taken on new challenges with an open mind (notably their Ting Tings sessioning project) and excelled as a result. They have been actively performing outside of the college since they started the course and have established themselves in their local scene, performing at festivals like First Light Festival this summer. They are a team and work exceptionally well together, we couldn't decide between the two of them... Therefore both learners have been awarded Music Student Of The Year.
